Antique Fireplace 8" Tile Floral Majolica by Cliff Joseph & Sons C1880

This is a very beautiful and rare embossed majolica tile with a unique green floral design, made by Cliff Joseph & Sons around 1880. Not much is known about this maker.

It is in good condition for its age, with chips around the edges, crazing in the glaze and surface marks.

It measures 8" x 8" square and 1.5cm in thickness.

The tile comes from the Roger Hensman Tile Collection, and has the number G.157. If you want to know more about this tile you can contact TACS (Tiles and Architectural Ceramics Society), give them the reference number, and they can offer more information about it.
