Art Nouveau / Art Deco Fireplace Tile Céramiques Gilliot & Cie Hemiksem C1900

A very rare tile to find in excellent condition with some very light crazing in the glaze.

This factory was founded in 1897.
The tile was made around 1897 to 1919, relatively late for a tile with Art Nouveau decoration.
The decoration is applied in relief utilising the dust-pressed technique
The tile is in good condition, with some small nibbles on the sides
The tile is marked on the back with the abbreviation of the manufacturer’s name.

It measures about 15cm x 15cm.
