Art Nouveau Fireplace Tile Blue Floral Majolica by Maw & Co C1880

This is a very unusual embossed majolica tile with a spiral tulips floral design in blue glaze, made by Maw & Co around 1880.

It was impossible for me to find another example like this.
The tile is in near-perfect condition, with surface marks and a few tiny chips around the edge.

It measures 6" x 6" square and approx. 1.3cm in thickness.

The tile comes from the Roger Hensman Tile Collection, and has the number .C139. If you want to know more about this tile you can contact TACS (Tiles and Architectural Ceramics Society), give them the reference number, and they can offer more information about it.
