Arts & Crafts Fireplace Tile Brown Moulded Majolica Burmantofts C1880

This is a very rare and beautiful embossed majolica tile with a floral design in brown glaze, made by Burmantofts around 1890.

It is in near-perfect condition, with tiny chips around the edges and surface marks.

It measures 6" x 6" square and approx. 1.4cm in thickness.

The tile comes from the Roger Hensman Tile Collection, and has the number C.143. If you want to know more about this tile you can contact TACS (Tiles and Architectural Ceramics Society), give them the reference number, and they can offer more information about it.
