This tile is part of my collection, and there is only one available.
This is a gorgeous block-printed tile depicting a female spirit standing inside snowdrops (Galanthus, scientific name). It comes from the "Spirits of the Flowers" series and is titled "Snowdrop. " It was designed by J Moyr Smith for Mintons China Works around 1875.
The series consists of 12 block-printed tiles of flowers with female spirits in different colourways, either designed by J Moyr Smith or C O Murray for Mintons China Works circa 1875.
The tile has a large chip in a corner, other small chips around the edges and some crazing on the glaze.
It measures 6" x 6" square.
