Antique Fireplace Tile Hand Painted Eagle Design by Gibbons Hinton & Co C1900

This is an exquisite and extremely rare hand-painted and glazed tile with a very unique eagle and floral design, made by Gibbons Hinton & Co around 1900.

It was impossible for me to find another example like this.
It is in very good condition for its age, with chips around the edge and surface marks.

It measures 6" x 6" square.

This tile has a reference number D. 483 on the back.
It comes from the Roger Hensman Tile Collection.
If you want to know more about it, you can contact TACS (Tiles and Architectural Ceramics Society), give them the reference number, and they can offer more information about the provenance and maker, together with the date Roger Hensman purchased the tile.
