Josiah Wedgwood Transfer Tile The Black Knight Exchanges Buffets with Friar Tuck

A very rare Wedgwood transfer printed picture tile is to be found.
The tile is printed, in dark blue, with subjects taken from the novel Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott,
from a very rare series designed by Thomas Allen.
The tile is marked to the reverse, in the moulding of the tile, 'JOSIAH WEDGWOOD & SONS ETRURIA', and dates from c.1880.
There are tiny chips around the edges, stains and surface marks.
It measures 8" x 8" square
