Marsden
This section features our current stock of antique fireplace tiles produced by Marsden, dating from the late 19th and early 20th century. Marsden tiles were manufactured in England and are associated with the Art Nouveau period, typically decorated with floral and stylised natural motifs.
Examples are usually tube-lined or moulded and finished in coloured glazes, with designs intended for use in fireplace panels and decorative interiors. Many patterns are now difficult to source, particularly in matching groups.
All tiles offered are original period examples. Suitable for display, collecting, or period fireplace restoration.
About Marsden Tiles
Marsden tiles were produced in England in the late 19th and early 20th century by the Marsden Tile Company, founded by George Marsden after his earlier work in the Staffordshire pottery industry. The firm became known for its decorative wall and fireplace tiles, particularly those in the Art Nouveau style, featuring floral and organic motifs. Production included transfer-printed, moulded, and tube-lined designs, often finished in rich coloured glazes, and Marsden tiles remain recognised today for their distinctive period character and craftsmanship.
