The tile is part of my collection, and there is only one available.
Here we have an amazing scarce pair of large impasto barbotine tiles with a floral design, not sure who the maker is as the design seems to be the style of Sherwin & Cotton, but the blank would suggest it is Copeland. Made around 1880.
They are in good condition for their age with small chips around the edges and surface marks.
Each measures 12" x 6" (31cm H x 15.2cm W).
Each comes in the original condition as found and sold as seen.
These larger than 6 inch tiles have usually been used for large fireplaces or wall designs, nowadays they are sought after for their beautiful and complex different unique designs which give them high value for collectors and people who simply want to hang it on their wall as decoration.
