About Pilkington
Pilkington’s Tile & Pottery Company was established in the late 19th century and became well known for its artistic approach to ceramic production. The firm is particularly associated with the Art Nouveau movement and the development of lustre glazes, producing tiles and pottery with a strong emphasis on design and finish. The original pottery and tile production ceased in the early 20th century, although the Pilkington name continued in other industries. Pilkington tiles remain recognised for their distinctive surface qualities and are well regarded within the field of decorative ceramics.
