Wedgwood transfer printed picture tile.The tile is printed, in blue, with a character from Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Nights' Dream'.Probably designed by Thomas Allen.The tile is marked to the reverse, in the moulding of the tile, 'JOSIAH WEDGWOOD & SONS ETRURIA', and dates from c.1878.There are some tiny chips to the rims, as often happens with tiles, but generally, the condition is very good.Measures 8" square.
