Description
Antique Sterling Silver & Ribbed Glass Match Holder Striker Chester 1895
This antique match holder is made of sterling silver and ribbed glass, bearing the Chester mark from 1895.
It was crafted by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders and James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd.
The silver collar is in good condition, with only minor dings and scratches.
The glass is also in good condition but has some disturbances and nicks and a hairline crack at the bottom measuring 1.8cm, but this is not going through the body; it's only at the surface.
Also, there are two small holes which look like they have been drilled with a tiny drill bit, but they don't go all the way through.
There are also some pinches on the side of the bottom rim.
The wear and tear are consistent with its age and usage.
Please look at the photos, and feel free to ask any questions.
It measures approx. 5.4cm x 6.3cm across.
Total weight 296 grams.
