This is a William Lund Patent propelling pencil with a silver collar that travels up and down a helical groove in the body to extend the lead.
It features a screw-off terminal. The pencil has no lead.

Marked: Lund Patentee, London, c1850

It measures about 9.5cm long.

It is in excellent condition for its age.
It will need a good cleaning.
