Antique Scandinavian Treen Wood Peg Tankard
A Scandinavian treen peg tankard with carved wooden construction and a hinged lid. The body is formed in coopered barrel shape with contrasting vertical bands and wrapped pegwork around the upper and lower sections. The lid is carved with simple foliate decoration and the handle is cut in a traditional stylised form.
ConditionIn good antique condition for its age, with visible signs of age and use throughout. There is wear, rubbing, surface marks, and areas of age-related darkening. The interior shows use and wear as well as cracks across due to shrinkage of the wood. Should only be used as decoration.
