Antique Victorian Skirt Lifter Brass Fyfe Patent Anchor Design
This is an antique Victorian brass skirt lifter with an anchor motif, made under the Fyfe patent.
The top section is cast with a raised anchor and rope design within a shaped surround. The form leads into a twin-arm mechanism with a pivot joint and lower clasp used to grip fabric.
This example is marked “Patent” on the clips and follows the Fyfe patent construction typical of late Victorian skirt lifters.
ConditionIt is in good condition for its age, with visible signs of age and usage.It comes in original as-found condition and is sold as seen.
