Art Deco Solid Silver Cigarette Box, London 1930, Richard Comyns
Fully hallmarked for London 1930, wooden interior but not wood lined to the lid interior.
There is an inscription on the front of the box.The inscription reads, "Dr John Kendall May 20th 1933, A Token of Gratitude from Major General J.C. Culling C.B."I don't know who Dr Kendall was, but (1858-1938), Major-General Surgeon John Chislett Culling, who was serving in the Bombay Command, was transferred from general duty in the Mhow district to the medical charge of the station hospital at Indoor vice Surgeon-Major W M James.
