Post Medieval 16th-17th Century Bronze Seal Matrix Metal Detecting Find

This is a seal matrix that dates back to the 16th-17th century.
The sealing die is conical with a narrow circular shaft that widens at the top to form a handle.
Two holes pierce the handle, one of which is larger in the central lobe, but it is broken.
It is believed that these holes were designed to accommodate a chain or cord so that the seal could be worn around the neck or fastened around the person.

It measures about 2cm H x 1.4cm in diameter.

This is a metal detecting find and comes in the original condition as found.
