Sterling Silver Vesta Case Match Safe Holder by Joseph Gloster 1900
This is a handsome and well-made antique solid sterling silver vesta case, dating to the turn of the 20th century and hallmarked in Birmingham in 1900.
Of square form with softly rounded corners, the case is richly decorated with engraved foliate scrollwork and cross-hatched panels, centred by an engraved cartouche, giving it strong visual presence and excellent period character. A side suspension ring allows it to be worn on a chain or carried securely.
