19th C. Gold Banded Agate Fob Seal Pendant Blank Matrix
Fob seal carved from naturally banded agate, with a faceted tapering body and reddish-brown upper section. The octagonal seal matrix is unengraved and enclosed by a stepped gold metal mount. A large ribbed suspension loop is attached to the upper section.
There are minor surface scratches, natural inclusions and a visible internal line within the agate near the base. The metal mount has surface wear, tarnishing and discolouration consistent with age. The blank seal matrix has light surface marks.
