Antique Georgian Wooden Pipe Tamper
An antique 18th-century, finely carved, shoe-shaped pipe tamper with carved button details.Pipe tampers were used to "correct the draw" by pressing the burning contents into the small round pipe bowl.
It measures about 2.3cm H x 7.2cm L x 1.5cm W.
It is in good condition for its age, with visible signs of age and usage (with minor dings and scratches).It will need a good cleaning.
