Antique Indian Kashmiri Solid Silver Cup and Saucer C1880
For sale is this rare antique Kashmiri silver cup and saucer, late 19th to early 20th century.
Typically unmarked but tested as high-grade sterling silver, the heavy gauge butte-shaped cup with ring handle and saucer is richly engraved and chased in the Persian-inspired Kashmiri 'Shawl' pattern, with a profusion of Chinar leaves within mihrab and paisley designs and patterned borders.
The saucer includes a cartouche-shaped shield in the centre with no monograms.
The item is unmarked but has been tested for quality and is guaranteed to match the description provided.
As you can see in the pictures, there was a tiny crack at the cup's rim.
It measures about 4.3cm H x 9cm W x 7.5cm in diameter for the cup.
11.5cm in diameter for the saucer.
Total Weight: 225.17 grams
It is in good condition for its age, with visible signs of age and usage (minor scratches and a small crack).
It will need a good cleaning.
