Antique Patinated Brass Horse Hoof Match Safe Vesta Case Box

This rare brass and black enamel vesta case, depicting a horse's hoof complete with fur and shoe, dates from the Victorian era.
It was designed to keep matches dry inside and utilized the underside of the hoof for striking.

It measures about 1.8cm x 5.7cm x 4cm.
