Antique Persian Copper Silver Inlaid Islamic Charger Tughra 32cm
A Persian copper charger of scalloped circular form, extensively decorated with silver inlay against a densely punched ground. The centre features an elaborate calligraphic tughra, surrounded by Islamic script which reads "Alhamdulillah", translating to "Praise be to God", a running gazelle, rosettes, stylised ornaments and a curved sword motif. The reverse retains its later Clarke's spring wall hanging fitting. It is in good antique condition for its age, with visible signs of age and use including surface scratches, tarnishing, rubbing and wear to the silver inlay, together with verdigris and old solder around the reverse fittings.
