George III Silver Vinaigrette John Shaw 1804

The vinaigrette, made in Birmingham by silversmith John Shaw, dates to 1804. This is an early piece by Shaw, as he only registered his mark in 1803. He specialised in small items such as snuff boxes, nutmeg graters, and vinaigrettes and remained in business until the late 1820s.

The condition is good, with a few dings, but no damage or repairs can be seen.
Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The hallmarks on the inside of the lid are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter g for 1804, the George III duty mark and the I S makers' mark for John Shaw.

It measures approx. 3.5cm x 4.5cm W.

It weighs 26 grams.
