A Georgian silver bougie box used for storing and dispensing a wax taper candle. The candle passes through the adjustable aperture in the lid, allowing it to be lit and carried by the hinged side handle. The circular body has reeded borders and an engraved monogram to the front.

In good condition for its age. There are surface scratches, small marks and areas of tarnishing consistent with age and use. The hinges and sliding candle aperture operate correctly. The candles have age-related discolouration, residue and signs of previous use. Please examine the photographs carefully.
