Antique Victorian Skirt Lifter Brass Fyfe Patent Shield & Bird Design

This is an antique Victorian brass skirt lifter featuring a shield-shaped top with a bird and foliage design.

Material: Brass
Design: Shield with bird and branch motif
Patent: Fyfe patent (marked)
Length: approx. 11.6 cm

The piece is formed with a decorative shield terminal engraved with a bird perched among foliage. The lower section consists of a pivoting mechanism leading to a circular grip and clasp used to gather and lift fabric.

This example is marked for the Fyfe patent, a known type of skirt lifter mechanism from the Victorian period.

Condition
It is in good condition for its age, with visible signs of age and usage. One clip is missing.
