The brush is of elongated oval form with sterling silver mount and engine-turned guilloché ground beneath translucent pale blue enamel. The decoration radiates in a concentric pattern from the centre, creating a subtle light-reflecting effect beneath the enamel surface.
The silver mount frames the enamel panel with a plain polished border. The reverse retains its original bristle fitting with wooden base.
Hallmarks are struck to the silver rim and include the lion passant, Birmingham anchor, date letter “Z” for 1924, and the maker’s mark for Henry Clifford Davis.
Early 20th century guilloché enamel dressing table items of this type were typically produced as part of coordinated vanity sets.
