This is a handsome and well-crafted antique solid sterling silver vesta case, dating to the Edwardian period and hallmarked in Birmingham in 1910.
Of square form with softly rounded edges, the case is richly decorated with engraved foliate scrollwork and cross-hatched panels, giving it strong visual presence and excellent period character. A side suspension ring allows it to be worn on a chain or carried securely.
