Victorian Sterling Silver Sovereign Case Frederick B Macrea London 1890
This Victorian sterling silver sovereign case has a circular pocket-watch form with a hinged cover and suspension bow. One side is engraved with an ornate intertwined monogram. The reverse depicts a heraldic boar standing above an arrow. The interior has a patterned surface and a sprung arm for retaining a sovereign.
The case is in good antique condition with surface scratches, small marks, minor knocks and areas of tarnish consistent with age and use. The engraved decoration shows some rubbing. The outer cover opens and closes correctly, and the internal retaining arm is present and operational. Please examine all photographs carefully.
