Victorian Sterling Silver Sugar Sifter Pot by White & Johnstone Sheffield 1860
This is a great Victorian sugar/pepper pot, or pounce pot, with a removable top above a roundly-shaped decorated body, standing on circular, stepped bases.
It features floral patterns on both the base and the top.
It dates from 1860 and originates from Sheffield.
Maker: White & Johnstone
Hallmarks: Sheffield mark, letter "S"-1860
It measures about 12cm H x 4.5cm in diameter.
Total Weight: 82 grams
It is in good condition, with visible signs of age and usage (with minor visible dents and scratches).
There is a small hole drilled on the bottom, but the base is double so isn't going all the way through.
It will need a good cleaning.
It comes in the original condition as found and sold as seen.
