A 9ct gold gravity pencil by Sampson Mordan & Co, hallmarked in London for 1938.

The pencil has a hexagonal barrel with engine-turned decoration. It extends telescopically to reveal the writing tip. The nozzle is marked “M” for medium lead size.

The mechanism operates by pressing the top button while holding the pencil down to extend. To retract, press the button while holding the pencil upright, using gravity to return the tip.

Condition
In good condition for its age, with visible signs of age and usage.

There is light surface wear. The mechanism extends and retracts as described.
