This Japanese matchbox features the image of a Geisha holding an umbrella in the garden.
The scene has a beautiful landscape with trees and a covered structure in the background.
This matchbox has an exceptionally beautiful patina.

Circa 1880s or 1890s, this matchbox was made at a time when Japan was transitioning from a society at war to a period of peace.
It is a beautiful piece to gift or for your collection.

It is in very good condition for its age, but the spring of the lid is broken.

It measures approximately 4.2cm x 2.8cm x 1.1cm
