Walter Crane was an accomplished 19th century illustrator famous for his nursery rhyme book Baby's Opera.

Several American and English tile companies used his designs in the early 1900's.

This tile is from the Copeland and has a hand-painted design of Old Mother Hubbard and dates from 1885.
