Antique 1884 Mourning Hair Gold Locket Pendant

This is an antique Victorian mourning locket pendant with charming hair strands behind the lens.
The locket is made of what I believe to be 9ct filled gold and dates from the Victorian period 1884.
In those days, mourning jewellery was popular due to the loss of many loved ones, and it was expected to include a strand of their hair in jewellery to carry with you at all times.
The mourning is also in very good condition, with expected wear consistent with age and usage, as seen in the pictures.
Overall, this is a charming antique locket that is sure to impress.

It measures approx. 3.4cm H including bale x 1.7cm W x 1cm D.
