Antique Tear Catcher Lachrymatory Scent Perfume Bottle Goth Mourning

This is an antique perfume bottle with a unique history.

It's known as a Tear Catcher or Lachrymatory Scent Bottle and was used by the Victorians to collect tears shed during mourning.

I've found a few of these, but this one is particularly beautiful.

It's interesting to learn about the origin of these Tear Catchers and how they remain popular among collectors today.

It is missing the stopper and has beautiful gold dressing around it.

It measures approx. 12cm x 1.5cm W
