Late Victorian Ladies Brass Hand Paper Letter Clip Holder Antique

This antique Victorian brass paper or letter clip is designed to look like an elegantly decorated woman's hand.
The hand is hinged to the back plate and has a coil spring built-in to apply pressure.
These paper clips were used to hold letters and notes together and could be hung on a wall or kept on the desk.

It measures about 13.2cm x 6.2cm.
