Description

Georgian George III Silver Cream Jug London 1777 David Mowden?

This is a cream jug from the George III era made in London.
It is fully hallmarked for London 1777, but the maker's mark is slightly rubbed. I believe these are for David Mowden, but I am unsure.
The jug has a silver base and is raised on a circular foot.
It comes with a leaf-covered scroll handle and bordered interior and rural scenes in repoussé work, probably done in the Victorian period.
There is an initial "E" engraved in the cartouche on the front.

The leg of the jug has a circular shape and is reinforced with a copper base for added stability.
The leg attachment is so well done that it's not even noticeable.

It measures about 12.2cm H x 10.6cm W x 6.4cm D.

Total Weight: 118 grams

It is in very good condition for its age, with a few tiny dents.
