Wax Seal, Bronze 19th Century, Cherubin Tied Hands, Forbidden Love, Monogram
This is a beautiful bronze wax seal from the 19th century. It features a cherub with tied hands, standing on a trompe l'oeil column base, which has the words "Souvenir d'amitié" engraved on it.
The cherub represents forbidden love or a past friendship.
The round base is engraved with the monogram of two letters, "D" and "E".
The wax seal has a base added by us to make it easier to keep on the desk.
This is an authentic French work from the neoclassical period, dating back to the second half of the 19th century.
The item is in excellent condition, with no tears or defects.
It measures about 10.3cm x 3cm the base is not included.
